Carla Lummerding, MAS
Carla Lummerding is a Marketing Specialist with over 16 years of experience in the branding and advertising industry. She has a diploma in Business Administration with a marketing major from Grande Prairie Regional College and has achieved the Master Advertising Specialist Certification (MAS) with Promotional Product Professionals of Canada. Carla was born in Grande Prairie and raised on a farm between Beaverlodge and Wembley, Alberta. She has a passion for marketing and loves creating unique branding ideas for clients. In 2008, Carla won the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in Grande Prairie with her start-up business and also became a founding member for the EWI Grande Prairie Chapter a year later. In the summer of 2017, Carla married her sweetheart, Kurt Lummerding. They enjoy travelling together, skiing, golfing and helping each other out in their business ventures. Whether it's Kurt helping deliver client promotional orders in the winter months, or Carla helping with construction projects in the summer for their family business, Caliber Mudjacking Ltd., they both enjoy the peace region and appreciate all the opportunities that come their way.
Along with Ultimate Productions projects, Carla became the Executive Director for the Non-Profit Society Grande Prairie & Area Safe Communities in 2016 whose mission is to promote public safety and reduce the incidence of injury in Grande Prairie and area through the maintenance and operation of Safety City and other programs designed to educate the public about safety and injury prevention. From a young age, Carla learned safety on the family acreage wearing a helmet for her bicycle, dirt-bike and quad, horse safety in the Wembley Gymkhana Club, farm safety in Wembley Wranglers 4-H Multi Club and in Beaverlodge Elementary School, Carla became a safety school patroller that received the highest test marks in the Peace Region to be awarded the National AMA School Patrol trip to Ottawa. Carla has volunteered at bingos and being the "Granny Wise" mascot for the Grande Prairie & District Burn Society in a Canada Day Parade for Burn Safety prevention, was a member of SADD (Students Against Drinking & Driving) and attended the National Conference in High School to bring back awareness to her high school, learned motorcycle and helmet safety courses through her former management position at Harley-Davidson and has taken her First Aid in the work place while focusing on events safety for large groups. Carla takes pride in a custom program she created in 2017 to help prevent distracted driving and impaired driving in her community called the New & Young Driver Road Ready Program, the first of it's kind in Alberta and Canada. Carla has had friends and family affected from choices that were preventable and it is close to her heart that safety and injury prevention can help so many people and save lives.
Carla has worked in hospitality and banquets as a manager for two local hotel chains booking corporate blocks, conferences, galas, meetings, trade shows, Christmas parties, weddings and various fundraising events. Carla has also worked for the City of Grande Prairie at Grande Prairie’s premier entertainment facility creating venue advertising ideas for clients and promoting venue events through different marketing mediums. One of her biggest achievements was implementing the presentation that was approved to obtain the $500,000+ advertising contract in naming rights for the facility now called Revolution Place.
Working in the focused areas of promotion, sponsorship and special events; Carla takes pride in helping her community achieve their goals. Maintaining relationships with strategic partners, businesses and organizations in the Peace Region is something Carla takes great pride in. Her professionalism, attention to detail, prompt service and positive helpful spirit is why clients enjoy working with Carla and why they recommend and refer her to friends, family and community networks.
